When Do You Feel Magic?

An original poem

Everyday magic?

In the eyes of children.

Eyes light up when reading a book

On the edge of their seat

Leaning

Listening for every word

Anticipation of the story.

Christmas tree light

Zip of energy to your heart

Nostalgia

Family being together

Tradition

Hygge!

Magic lives in all the words

Within pages on shelves.

Depth has imprinted on the worn pages

Traveled to this destination

Take them off the shelves

Bring them home.

I wonder

Are there people that only read on planes?

Only buy books at the airport?

Where do these volumes go afterward?

To a book lover friend?

Left randomly along the travel route?

Moments of anticipation.

A nice dinner where you get dressed up
