A cup of coffee and a conversation

Happy Sunday! The weather has finally taken a turn for the cooler. It truly feels like fall. My coffee is black today as usual. What would you like?

After traveling last week I sadly contracted a cold. Two of the people with me were sick and being in the plane didn’t help.

If we were having coffee I would tell you I am planning to do NANOWRIMO which is National Novel Writing Month. The goal is to write a 50,000 word manuscript by the end of November. It is about 1700 words a day. My plan is to do short stories that are centered around one character. I am using Nancy Stohlman’s prompts as well so we will see how that goes. There are a lot of writers who participate so it should be a good community time. I still continue to write every day but do not feel I am making as much progress.

If we were having coffee I would tell you I picked up The Warehouse by Rob Hart from the library this week. I am excited to dig in since I have heard such great things about this novel.

If we were having coffee I would tell you I am still reading my Best American Short Stories 2019. I love the orange cover and the stories are different. I am enjoying it and trying to savor. I was looking into ordering the Pen America Debut short story collection. I really enjoy the one I have that was edited…
