How a Tree Changed my Perspective 7 Ways
I lost the internet for 2 days.
A branch went down in my backyard and took the power line with it which resulted in 9 of an outage on a summer day. When the power company came to fix the transformer, they cut my internet cable. Oops.
With the time we live in, the internet controls many areas of my life. Luckily my phone has unlimited data so I wasn’t completely disconnected. I quickly found out how much I use my laptop without doing a data collection.
I anxiously awaited the lights to come on since it was nearly 9 pm before the workman finished. It had been a long day of several obstacles that had to be overcome and I was looking forward to the air conditioning coming back on, a nice shower, and catching up on a couple of TV shows.
That is NOT what happened.
After the power came back on [YEAH!] I could not get the modem to connect to the internet. It can be a little fussy and slow so I thought it was just taking its time. For 2 hours, I unplugged, plugged, restarted, looked at the manual, and tightened cables, which was foolish — I did not know the line had been cut.
After connecting to my internet provider I chatted with a rep who had me do the unplug, plug, restart routine all over again.
