That Day I Time Traveled
Looking Back is Like Thumbing Through the Book of Your Life
Every person understands that time travel is not a reality yet outside of science fiction. There are times I FEEL like we feel like we have traveled somewhere magical.
There are a couple instances in life I feel time travel is a real concept, not just a trope.
Daylight savings time is one.
The second is when I feel I am in a dream that is reminiscent of the movie Inception. It is that dream where I have control within hazy wisps of my waking life. The pieces are recognizable but just off to the right. It is a surreal feeling that makes me uneasy.
Recently I had to attend my son’s sport awards where I used to work almost 10 years ago now. My life is much different now and I do not have opportunities to interact with past colleagues.
That equation of time is part life, part moving jobs, part leaving town. Running into these people make me uncomfortable because I am pushed back into the memory of my old life even though I am completely happy with the life I am living now. I refuse to apologize for being happy.
