Sunday Coffee Share
Today please join me for a coffee. It was warm yesterday but rainy today so let’s go to a little diner uptown. It is nice there, and they don’t mind if we sit for a while. We have some catching up to do!
If we were having coffee, I would tell you I am still writing every day with Storyaday May. I do a free write with the idea of Julie’s prompt in mind and then I write the short story. This process has worked well to tap into my unconscious but it means that all my drafts are in notebooks and not in Google Docs. I will type them out and do a round of revision as I type which I like as a short story process. It is nice to have a supportive community for writing. I check in every day with a small group of writers who are doing the same challenge I am!
If we were having coffee, I would tell you I am also using Sarah Selecky’s writing prompts every day. I use the prompt sent to my email at 5 am and do a 10-minute writing practice.
This is one of the prompts shared on Sarah’s Writing School Twitter account:
If we were having coffee I would tell you my students did their last candle dipping station for the elementary students on Wednesday. We had supplies ready so making the fire did not take that long at all. The weather was nice and I even got a little color on my face!
