Mourning

A Poem

Stillness evokes from the threshold of the unconscious
Feelings wrap themselves around my bones.
Its fingers holding so tightly it scraps the flesh away
My tarnished existence bore for all to see.
Laughter rings through the air and echoes off the walls.
I have been taken over
Warmth rushes over and through me
Sparkles of light burst through my eyes
Voices sing me to sleep in the dark
Loss in the abyss of mourning
A weight holds me to the floor
Clearly I see more
Than I have before.
Along with the sun I set
Sinking into the stillness once again.
