#FMF Question
Every Friday I set a timer for 5 minutes and write on the word provided. Today’s word is:
I question everything: people, intentions, motivations, my own thoughts. I love questions, especially to ask them and catch people off guard. I believe the truth is more likely to come out that way.
Prompts are questions for my writer self to get her answers. There is a WHY underneath that is more of a statement than a question.
I like questions that start with
What if…
What happens next?
Common questions are the ones people lie when they answer. “How are you?” we ask…FINE is the answer. Do you know anyone who is really FINE? A friend and I banned the word fine for a long while because it didn’t mean anything and we were not. The answer did not drive the conversation forward.
I have favorite questions.
What is on your mind?
What are you working on?
What’s inspiring you?
I don’t like small talk questions. I would rather know your favorite flavor and the memory it conjures. Or your favorite teacher from elementary school and the story you remember about them.
I like to know how things work, and I’m always striving to figure it out.
