The word hospitality makes me think of warmth. The comfort of having people over who you are entertaining in your living space. The word HYGGE is one of my favorites and it is delicious word that cannot be directly translated into English from Danish. It is about that feeling that is hard to express where the conversation and company is lifegiving. There is often fire and fantastic food and warm beverages included as well. When I am gathering people I am always trying to achieve Hygge.

Many years ago a friend and I did a Bible study on hospitality. We gathered together and cooked and talked and did our discussion questions. It was a lovely time of friendship in my life.

In one of my past lives I was also a Pampered Chef consultant. This job I gave the identity of a person who gathered people together around food. It was never really about the sales for me- that was icing. I believed in the company when it was still own by Doris the original founder. I enjoyed doing the parties where I cooked for people. It was always a unique gathering of people. I had done cooking shows for people on a file cabinet in a tiny house all the way to a mini mansion with several ovens. The laughter and the stories were always similar no matter what their income status was and it was always a fun few hours.
