Connection — How Much is Enough?

Some questions for you to think about:

What are you passionate about today?

What do you find your thoughts centering on when you zone out?

What problems do you need to solve?

What are you purposefully NOT thinking about?

What do you need?

What do you need to be strategic about?

Big questions, I know.

The particular question I am pondering for myself is:

What level of personal connection do I really need?

As an introvert, I occasionally prefer to be an extrovert. Lately, I have a strong surge of wanting to be around people and deeply interact with them. Usually, the topics are around teaching or writing or reading or running or just life.

But my experience reveals to me that the times of socialization and party opportunities never align with my feeling of desire. What this looks like is parties I am invited to, I never attend. Gatherings that are planned take a huge amount of effort to physically attend. This also looks like last minute cancellations on my part.
