A little app that makes a big difference
Several years ago I signed up for an email which would send me a list of quotes I had highlighted from my Kindle. The app syncs with my Amazon account and updates regularly.
It took me a while to warm up to the idea of the Kindle. I prefer physical books but I was urged to try e-reading by a reading friend and I made the leap. I still love physical books and magazines but I also like the advantage of packing 10 boxes of books in my purse on the device.
I can also download a book in the middle of the night. While on a business trip I blew through the book on the flight there and couldn't wait to attach to the wifi to get another book. I didn't have to try to find a bookstore in a strange city. Although that isn't a bad trip either. On vacation, I always find at least one bookstore even in Hawaii — but that is another story.
As a reader who reads for writing, education, productivity, and pleasure I forget a lot of the books I have downloaded. Any time a book is on my TBR (to be read) list comes up for a couple of dollars I add it to my collection.
